They say it's your birthday! It's my birthday too (and anniversary)!

Friday the 20th was my 25th Birthday. It's strange to think I am that old. 25 was a birthday that I always looked forward to, using it as kind of a marker. And now it has come and gone. And I am a mother. Strange.
It was a fun day. DJ went to a cafe and brought me breakfast in bed. Cinnamon roll french toast. Yummy! We also went out to dinner with my parents, once again, Yummy! Amelia's gift was sleeping through dinner. DJ is funny about giving presents, although he would say that it is me who is funny. He likes to give money, because he thinks I am better at picking out what I want, and I guess he is probably right. But he always gets me something to open, this year it was a big box of ice cream sandwiches.
Tuesday was our 4th anniversary. Time sure flies. It almost feels like yesterday we were driving down to the Portland temple, almost. It mostly feels like it has been forever, in a good way. We sent Amelia away and recreated our first date, Amelia's gift was sleeping for 10 hours that night. Heaven.

Take a walk with me down memory lane

I thought I would start by giving a brief overview of recent events.

1. Mid-March DJ graduated with his MBA, YAY!!! Luckily nobody goes and gets a Doctorate in Business, that means he is done, finished, finito, the end, home free, etc, etc, etc. He will continue to work for his dad's finacial planning office. "Do you have insurance, because if you do...you could always use a little more. Am I right, or am I right."

2. April 14, at 7:06pm our beautiful baby girl was born. Amelia Marguerite. 7lbs 3oz, 21 1/2 inches. All I can say about her delivery is, I am glad it's over, and that your brain literally can't remember pain that bad.

3. DJ got the chance to meet Mitt Romney at a campaign lunch. For those of you who don't know DJ, he is REALLY into politics, me...not so much. Unfortunate all around. DJ, he has no one to talk to and usually ends up calling one of his brothers. Me, I have to just smile and nod and after awhile proclaim, "I'm done."

4. In June we were able to bless Amelia at church. A lot of our family was able to attend and we missed those who were far away. She wore the outfit that I wore at my blessing, although on her it was a little bit of a mini skirt. My dad said she looked so much like me that the memories just flooded in, and he almost lost it. Man, I must have been cute.

Well, those are the highlights, other than the daily smiles and coos we get from our little girlie that just melt our heart. She really is the cutest.

Today is the day!

Today we enter into bloggerdom. It's a place we never thought we would go. Mostly because we couldn't imagine having anything all that interesting to report, except the occasional "look at what we are doing, aren't we cool". In doing so, feeling a tad narcissistic. But now that we have our beautiful baby girl, we might actually have entertaining things to share, like "look at our daughter, she's the cutest". And have no guilt, because she is and everyone should know.
Actually the real reason for the blog is to help our family and friends far away, to feel a little closer. We know that we feel more involved when reading yours. Also to help those that are here to feel...well...we're not sure. Hopefully only good things. So enjoy watching our transition to parenthood and thus adulthood. It sure feels weird.
