Seriously, where does the time go. I just don't get it. Here is where some of ours went. Not that you necessarily care, but me and my flakiness like it for journaling purposes (is that even a word?, blogger says no).
First full week of May- Amelia all of the sudden realized how to eat! The horrible lion of a gag reflex finally was tamed and she is now enjoying most foods. Her favorites: yogurt, peas, grilled cheese, bananas, refried beans and ice cream. Hates: Milk.
Sometime in the beginning of May - My memory is shot and I can't remember the day but I had a wonderful time at a baby shower for one of my best friends growing up, Carly and her cute belly full of baby girl Cameron. Kirstin (Sister-in-law and childhood friend, weird huh. All three of us used to try and figure out who we could marry to be related, 2 out of 3 ain't bad, and no we didn't marry who we planned), Carly and I had so much fun that we are having girls night almost every week before the baby comes.
Day before Mother's day- My mom, my sisters and I had amazing pedicures. My first. How I went this long without it I don't know. I think it will become a bit of a tradition. And like any other nail place around here it was run by people who spoke less than clear English. We plan on taking my brother (who is on a mission in Korea) to a Korean place and getting him a pedicure when he gets back (he has horrible feet). I have a feeling he won't go.
Mother's day - sick, sick, sick...anyone want to lose 5 lbs in one day? I know a way. DJ and Amelia got me a dozen roses and a dozen pieces of cheesecake. Nice thought but I couldn't look at the cheesecake for a couple days.
May 14th - I had cut Amelia down to nursing only in the morning. On this particular morning she refused! Not 2 weeks ago I was still nursing 3 times a day and wondering when I could ever have my body be my own and then this. Pursed lips and a turned of the head. I was a little annoyed that I wasn't told ahead of time, but it is nice to know that I can leave for a weekend ALONE! DJ better watch out, I may flee at any moment.
Last weekend - Gloriously sunny, a bit on the hot side and we could enjoy none of it. Poor Amelia was sick, sick, sick. Fever and cranky! It sure is hard to cool off when you have a fever and it is 90 degrees outside and no air conditioning. By Monday her fever was gone, but her crankiness was not, so I took her to the doctor on Tuesday. Diagnosis: Roseola type virus and an ear infection. Yay for antibiotics, she is now feeling much better.
This weekend - We were all able to go to church together!!! I swear it has only been about 4 times in the last 3 months. Although I have to say that going to church by myself has never been so nice and relaxing...
Wondering were DJ was through all of this. Trying not to get sick, working, trying to get a guys night set up for him, still trying, and taking wonderful care of Amelia and I.
Now it is an unholy hour and the bed is calling my name...I...must...answer.

RIP
Today we put the beloved jumperoo to rest. It had a long life, filled with much happiness, jumping and squeals of delight. But as in all good things, it had to end sometime, the girlie just grew up. She loved it once, more than most anything. It made her jump like no baby had jumped before. But today the jumperoo is now sadly just an annoyance, confining her in a way she no longer wants to be confined. Thank you dear jumperoo for hours upon hours of entertainment. May you rest in peace until there is one to love you again.
Amazingly enough this video is very tame, she would never do it full out when the camera was on her.

Cabin adventure
Last weekend, we were able to go to DJ's family's cabin. Apparently we weren't the only ones who thought it was a good idea as we found 5 dead mice (in traps). UH, gross. Did shivers run up your spine too? I informed DJ that the only way we would stay is if he did a MAJOR cleaning job. He wanted to stay so bad that he did and even suckered his brother Peter into helping, who was only there for the day. Although I have to admit that I still got the heebie jeebies when I thought about it, and I only let Amelia play on a clean blanket on the floor.
Amelia enjoyed the beach, especially digging her feet in the rocks.

Like father, like daughter - watching The A-Team, sweet.

1 year stats
On April 16th Amelia had her one year appointment. She dropped quite a bit in weight (she only gained 12 oz in 3 months) and is now 20lbs (30%), 30 inches (80%) and her head is 17 3/8 inches (25%). Once again I am shocked, as are others, that Amelia can be in the 30% for weight and 80% for height and have her rolls, she just doesn't look that thin. Well, at least her forearms, calves, wrists and ankles don't (although they have dramatically decreased in every sense of the word), the rest of her is pretty lean.
Her doctor mentioned that I should watch the weight because she wouldn't want her to drop even more next time. She even went so far as to suggest putting olive oil, butter or heavy cream into her food if she doesn't start gaining. Wait, she was talking about my food right. Unfortunately, no.
Then came the fun part, shots. Oh the joy. Amelia happily played through her toe prick and blood draw. She even didn't seem to mind the first shot. Then the second one came...wow. She made quite a scene.
In the paper they sent home with me about her development it said that at this age they prefer people over toys... ya, shocker.
