Seriously

Where, oh where do I begin. When I posted the Halloween pictures and said I wanted to get them up before Thanksgiving, I didn't actually think it would be that long. Where has this month gone? I know, it is packed away in the empty boxes that are filling our garage.

First off, we are loving our new home. The adjustment period was almost non-existent for DJ and I, (Amelia is another story....stay tuned) we felt at home right away. It took a good 4 days to try and figure out the best configuration for our larger couches in our smaller living room, but we finally got it. Amelia's room and the office had to be switched because of Internet/cable issues. Our water heater kind of sucks and we can't figure out how to get our queen size box spring up our switch back stairs. HMMM, The previous owners did it...if anyone has got any ideas let us know. But seriously we love it. It's pretty and the perfect size with 3 bdrm. and 3 baths, it has a fenced backyard, a 1 car garage and DJ's all time favorite part and a marriage saver (just kidding) the HOA does ALL of the yard work. For those who did not see our yard 2 years ago, picture a blowing field of wheat. Seriously.

In other news Amelia had her 6 months checkup shortly after we moved. She stayed in the same percentiles as last time. She was 17lbs 4 oz. (65%) and was 26 3/4 inches (90%) and her head was in the 40%. For her, shots sucked, moving sucked, hence first two weeks in new house...sleeping sucked...for all of us. The first couple of nights Amelia woke up at least 5 times, seriously. She would fuss for a couple of minutes and then fall back asleep. Then she improved, but was still waking up 2 times and decided she wanted to eat. But luckily she is back to wonderfully solid nights sleeps, about half of the time. AAAHHHH, still waiting for it to be consistent again. You wouldn't think the change would affect the little one so much, especially when their crib is the same.

In the solid feeding category, she was eating rice cereal wonderfully, gobbled it up and then in happened, the dreaded throwing up every time she ate it, just like formula. Obviously we stopped and the Dr. said to just skip it and move on, but Amelia's bad experience has left her a little wary. She really won't open her mouth. But I mashed up a banana the other day and she ate some of that, and she loves to suck on apple slices, so slowly but surely I'm sure she will get over it.

Little Miss did something new this week. I handed her a toy and then asked it if could have it back and she gave it to me! We played that for a while. She is now wrinkling her nose when she smiles and I think she is starting to do stuff just to be silly. Too cute.

Finally, DJ and I got callings on Sunday in our new ward, which got split just last week. DJ got the same calling as our last ward, Ward Mission Leader. He is excited. I got 2nd Counselor in the Young Women's. GULP, I am terrified. I can't believe I am old enough to be a 2nd Counselor to anything, I feel like a young woman...what if they laugh at me...seriously.

Well this was crazy long, but we have been crazy busy, and life is good. We are so thankful for all that we have been blessed with. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Angie, it was good to catch up on you! It sounds like your house is really nice! You will have to post pictures of the interior. Sorry about little Amelia's sleeping challenges... it doesn't take much to throw them off. Whenever Maddie is getting a tooth she wakes up a lot. And the recent time change was rough in the mornings. Anyway, DJ and Mike have the same calling--funny! And you will be fabulous as the 2nd counselor. Don't you remember loving the younger leaders?

I know you posted this, what, 3 weeks ago? And I know I've seen you since, but I didn't know that you were called into the Young Womens! I think you'll be fantastic!

Did you guys ever figure out how to get your mattress up the stairs? I never heard an update on that dilemma.

And, as always, Amelia is adorable.
